Prospect United Methodist Church has active and exciting ministries from newborns through 5th grade.

Your child will learn what God is like by discovering Him through our paid and volunteer nursery staff.  They will be welcomed and loved by their church family.

Ages:  Newborns to 5-year-olds.  Children 3 years (potty trained) and older are encouraged to participate in Sunday School and seasonal programs.

Hours:  8:45 am to 11:00 am

Our nursery is located off the Fellowship Hall.

Worship Service

All children are welcome in our worship service, but you may also consider bringing them to the nursery (see information above).  Age appropriate worship packets for children ages 3 – 6 (purple cloth bags) and for children ages 7 – 12 (clear plastic bags) with materials relating to the day’s scripture lesson are available.  Children K through 4th grade may also participate in activities with our paid staff; they are excused after the Children’s Message given during the service.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes for children 3 years (potty trained) through 5th grade are offered from 10:15 am to 11:00 am following the worship service.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held for five days in the early summer with a specific theme and mission focus for each year.  Please check our homepage, newsletter, and Church calendar for details on this year’s program.

Acolyte Ministry

The Acolyte Ministry at Dunlap Prospect United Methodist Church provides a way for 1st through 5th grade students to serve the Church.  The acolytes serve by bringing the light of Christ into the sanctuary for the 9:00 am worship service.  Acolytes, new and returning, must attend a training session which is scheduled as needed.

We have a library full of books, DVDs, and movies just for kids and their families.  This bright, kid-friendly library is located off the Fellowship Hall on the main floor.  There is also a library on the main floor between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall (across from pastor’s office) with books for moms and dads.
