Book Discussions
Everyone is welcome to join us as we talk about the PUMC book of the month. You don’t have to say anything if you’d rather not.
You don’t even have to read the book!
We will meet again on Thursday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lounge to discuss the nonfiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann, 2017, 400 pp. In the 1920s, members of the Osage Indian Nation in Oklahoma became wealthy by selling oil from beneath their land. But one by one, more than twenty-four Osage members died, killed by unknown persons. The newly formed FBI took on the case, its first major homicide investigations, and at first failed to make progress. Finally J. Edgar Hoover assigned a former Texas Ranger, who organized an undercover team to expose a chilling conspiracy.
