Prospect United Methodist Church continues to offer many opportunities for spiritual growth. Our congregation is a diverse group of people who are united in a belief and faith in Jesus Christ. As you browse our site, I hope you can begin to catch the excitement that is taking place in our community. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us. Your comments, not only on our site but on our church's offerings, are appreciated.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Steve Pichaske
What should I expect during the service?
Each service begins by greeting one another, celebrating our presence through song, and thanking God through prayer.
It also includes a Children’s Message; special music by the choir, guest vocalists, or musicians; and our own bell choir
during special seasons such as Lent and Advent.
How long does the Worship service last?
Our service lasts one hour to one hour fifteen minutes.
What should I wear?
There isn't a dress code in the United Methodist Church, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Our congregation
wears anything from "Sunday best" to business casual to shorts and sandals. (Feel free to leave the tie and high heels at home.)
Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
No. As our guest, you won't be asked to wear a sticker, stand up, or stand out in any way. You should not feel obligated to
participate in the offering; however, you are welcome to give as the Spirit moves you. We want you to remain as
anonymous as you want to be, but we do encourage attending for several weeks so that you can see all that is going
on at Prospect.
Please feel free to sign our guest book or attendance pad so that we can get more information about Prospect to you,
if you desire. However, no one will visit or call on you without your permission.
What are your rules for Holy Communion?
People of all ages are welcome at the Lord’s table, whether a member of our church, any other church, or no church.
Christ invites all who love him and repent of their sin to participate.
Is there an alternative worship for my children?
We welcome all children in our worship services, but you may also consider bringing them to the Nursery.
(Newborns to 5 years old)
Children in K through 4th grade may also participate in activities with our paid staff; they are excused after the
Children's Message given during the worship service.
What about my 5th or 6th grade student?
We have an active Youth Group that meets Sunday evenings. Please check the Calendar of Events or the
Newsletter (link on the website) for Youth Activities in the current month.
What do you offer for middle and high school students?
Our Youth Ministry, for students in the 6th through 12th grade, offers a program of get-togethers, retreats, music,
bible study, worship, service opportunities and mission trips.
